North of Powell. May, 2010. Shrikes are classified as predatory songbirds. Their diet typically consists of insects, but they also kill small vertebrates, including mice and other birds. They are known for impaling their prey on thorns and then devouring it.
We are Rob and Deb and we live in Powell, Wyoming. Most of these photos were taken in Wyoming, though we do occasionally visit other parts of the world. Some of these images come from those excursions, and there is a mix of old and new photography here.
