Fogbow (aka white rainbow)

A fogbow, also known as a white rainbow, occurs when the droplets of moisture are too small to act as prisms, which happens in a normal rainbow. The result has the shape of a rainbow, but it is all white. This one formed as the early morning fog was breaking up in Hayden Valley.

Harlequin Ducks are sea ducks who spend winters along the coast of the Pacific Northwest, ranging as high as the northern tip of Alaska. During the summer they move inland and live in fast moving streams. Yellowstone is at the southern tip of their summer range.
