In early August lightning started a fire near Sylvan Pass. On August 12, after several days of a slow burn, the fire blew up. Late that afternoon the smoke drifted in, covering the area in an orange haze.

One step later and the bull caught up with the bullfighter, who was tossed some seven or eight feet in the air, but still managed to land on his feet and keep running.
